Escursione da Sogno sul Monte Baldo: Il Sentiero Ventrar 

Il Monte Baldo, con le sue creste affacciate sul Lago di Garda, è un paradiso per gli escursionisti. Ma c’è un momento particolare della giornata in cui la sua bellezza si rivela in modo ancora più magico: il tramonto. Abbiamo avuto il privilegio di vivere un’esperienza indimenticabile percorrendo il suggestivo Sentiero Ventrar, con i colori infuocati del sole che calava all’orizzonte.

La Salita in Funivia: Un Volo Sopra il Garda

La nostra avventura è iniziata a Malcesine, dove la moderna funivia Malcesine-Monte Baldo ci attendeva. La risalita è già di per sé uno spettacolo mozzafiato. Le cabine rotanti offrono una vista a 360 gradi che lascia senza fiato, mentre ci si eleva rapidamente sopra le acque scintillanti del Lago di Garda e si superano le pendici boscose del monte. Il panorama si apre progressivamente, rivelando un tappeto blu cobalto del lago e i profili frastagliati delle montagne circostanti.

L’Inizio dell’Itinerario: Rifugio e Prati Alpini

Una volta raggiunta la stazione a monte di Tratto Spino (1.760 m s.l.m.), l’aria fresca e frizzante di montagna ci ha accolti. Da qui, abbiamo imboccato il sentiero che si snoda attraverso ampi prati alpini, costellati di fiori selvatici in primavera e estate. Il primo tratto è relativamente facile, permettendoci di acclimatare e di goderci le prime vedute aperte.

La Cresta del Monte e le Rocce del Sentiero Ventrar

Il Sentiero Ventrar è il cuore di questa escursione. Il nome stesso, che significa “ventoso”, suggerisce la sua natura esposta. Questo tratto ci porta a camminare su una stretta cengia rocciosa, scavata nella parete occidentale della cresta. La vista da qui è semplicemente epica. Sul lato sinistro, le rocce scendono a picco verso il lago, offrendo una prospettiva vertiginosa. Le pareti sono coperte da fitti boschi di pino mugo che si arrampicano sulle pendici.

I Colori del Tramonto: Lo Spettacolo Finale

Man mano che il sole scendeva, il cielo ha iniziato a tingersi di sfumature incredibili. L’arancione, il rosa e il viola si sono fusi in una tela mozzafiato, riflessa sulle acque del lago. Le creste rocciose, prima di un grigio spento, si sono accese di una luce dorata e calda.

È qui che l’esperienza ha raggiunto il suo apice. Ci siamo fermati per ammirare il sole che scompariva dietro le montagne, lasciando dietro di sé una scia di colori incandescenti. Le nostre foto, per quanto belle, non possono rendere giustizia all’emozione di quel momento.

Ritorno e Conclusioni

Dopo aver assistito a questo spettacolo, abbiamo ripreso il cammino verso il punto di partenza.

Il Monte Baldo al tramonto non è solo un’escursione, ma un’esperienza sensoriale completa, che regala panorami unici e indimenticabili. Il Sentiero Ventrar, con il suo carattere selvaggio e la sua vista mozzafiato, è la via perfetta per vivere questo momento magico.

Monte Baldo, with its ridges overlooking Lake Garda, is a paradise for hikers. But there is a specific time of day when its beauty is revealed in an even more magical way: sunset. We were privileged to experience an unforgettable hike along the scenic Ventrar Path, with the fiery colors of the sun setting on the horizon.

The Cable Car Ascent: A Flight Over Lake Garda

Our adventure began in Malcesine, where the modern Malcesine-Monte Baldo cable car was waiting for us. The ascent itself is a breathtaking spectacle. The rotating cabins offer a 360-degree view that leaves you speechless as you quickly rise above the sparkling waters of Lake Garda and pass over the wooded slopes of the mountain. The panorama gradually opens up, revealing the cobalt blue expanse of the lake and the jagged profiles of the surrounding mountains.

Starting the Hike: Alpine Huts and Meadows

Once we reached the upper station of Tratto Spino (1,760 m a.s.l.), the fresh, crisp mountain air greeted us. From here, we took the trail that winds through wide alpine meadows, dotted with wildflowers in spring and summer. The first section is relatively easy, allowing us to acclimatize and enjoy the first open views.

The Mountain Ridge and the Rocks of the Ventrar Path

The Ventrar Path is the heart of this hike. The name itself, meaning “windy,” suggests its exposed nature. This section takes us along a narrow rocky ledge, carved into the western face of the ridge. The view from here is simply epic. On the left side, the rocks drop sheer to the lake, offering a dizzying perspective. The walls are covered with dense mugo pine forests that climb the slopes.

The Colors of Sunset: The Final Spectacle

As the sun went down, the sky began to be painted with incredible shades. Orange, pink, and violet merged into a breathtaking canvas, reflected on the waters of the lake. The rocky ridges, once a dull gray, lit up with a golden, warm glow.

This is where the experience reached its peak. We stopped to admire the sun disappearing behind the mountains, leaving a trail of incandescent colors behind it. Our photos, however beautiful, cannot do justice to the emotion of that moment.

The Return and Conclusion

After witnessing this spectacle, we resumed our journey back to the starting point.
